Join Jade and Camellia on an exploration of aromatics, somatic practices and techniques to navigate chronic stress and trauma. In this course, through the lens of Polyvagal Theory, we will delve into an understanding of the body’s stress and trauma response, the power of aromatics and our sense of smell, and somatic practices. This course has been designed to provide you with the tools to support yourself, family, friends, and clients in healing and in building resiliency during these turbulent times. *Retreat tuition includes Root and Resin gift bag, Aromatic product made in class, and herbal tea.Throughout our time together, the following topics will be covered:
  • Defining trauma and trauma-informed care
  • How trauma and chronic stress impact individuals psychologically, physiologically, emotionally and socially.
  • Polyvagal Theory
  • Basic skills for somatic experiencing: Orientation, Felt sense, Tracking, and Resourcing
  • The power and potential of aromatics in trauma healing and dealing with chronic stress
  • The stress response and the modern concept of allostasis
  • The role (benefits) of aromatics and somatics for trauma and chronic stress
  • Somatic practices include yogic informed and mindfulness breathing techniques, contemplative aromatherapy practice, movement, mind/body rituals and more.
  • Benefits of, how and why to create aromatic ritual for daily wellbeing
  • How to apply essential oils to specific acupressure points to help regulate the nervous system
*Upon completion of course, you will receive a certificate from the School for Aromatic Studies for CE hours for Certified Aromatherapists.
