Passion and Compassion: Caregiving as Spiritual Practice

May 14 - May 17, 2020

Dale Borglum

Approaching caregiving as spiritual work on oneself is a powerful tool for transformation in our modern world. This attitude deepens the quality of care that we can give and helps us avoid burnout. In this workshop we will use guided meditation, experiential exercises, group discussion, and lecture material to explore together the following topics: grief as the gateway to healing; the causes and transformation of suffering; invocation and awareness as antidotes to denial and stress; cultivating compassion for self and others; caring for the suffering and the dying; fear, the shadow, and the unconscious; physical pain and our sense of self; the nature death and how to prepare for it; illness, healing, meditation and prayer.
