Join Jessica Becker to explore the nature of skillful action. In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna famously says to Arjuna that yoga is “ skill in action”. Iyengar Yoga is a deeply compassionate practice whose essential teaching is skillful action. It is a practice that meets you where you are, gives you the resources you need, and offers a transformative study into yourself through the practices of yoga postures (asana), breath, and meditation. These tools help to cultivate a “felt sense” of self awareness and connection in your body. It offers healing at many levels--physical, mental and emotional--and your range of motion, energy and stamina are all strengthened and restored.Skillful action is knowing, at the essence of ourselves, beyond our likes, dislikes, and fears, what is the right thing to do next.Practicing with skillful action is inclusive of all areas; no area is overlooked, overworked or underworked. Every yoga posture is captured in T.S. Eliot's words: "We must be still and still moving into another intensity."This retreat includes five yoga asana classes, one long restorative and pranayama class, evening meditations, a sound bath on Saturday night, and time to rest and connect with yourself and your friends.One year of Iyengar yoga experience is required.
