Carrie Mae Rose has spent this lifetime seeking beauty and exploring what care of the Self actually signifies. Her recent commitment to managing the Dewa Spa at Menla is an alignment of aspirations which arrived during a major turning point in her career. Carrie Mae has an MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons and spent a decade living in NYC running a small freelance tech coaching business, exhibiting artworks and creating independent design innovations. Over the last 20 years, while project managing and honing her skills as an artist/designer and futurist, she has concurrently been studying the healing arts through meditation, yoga, I Ching and Ayurveda. She is super enthused to be working in the beautiful environs of Menla and to support practitioners and staff in offering many healing spa modalities to retreat clients and the local public. The land energies of Menla and Panther Mountain Meteor Crater are an alchemical location in which to be of service and to work on blending creative practice, deep healing and spiritual vision.
“The property is amazing. The creek running through it is one of the most amazing places to sit and listen that I have ever been to. I work in the forest industry and am constantly exposed to the wonders of the natural world, and I feel like this is one of the most profound natural spaces I have been to in my life.”

“Menla is a truly inspiring place to live and work. I can’t imagine a better environment in the US for me to be of service, help a very meaningful cause, and learn about Tibet, Buddhism, yoga, and the world of health & wellness. I have a tremendous amount of gratitude for Robert & Nena Thurman’s vision, not to mention for everyone else who helps make Menla a place I can feel genuinely proud to work for.”
