Selena Reynolds currently teaches at Shakti Yoga Studios, Menla Mountain Retreat Center, and privately in Woodstock, NY and the surrounding area. She completed Shakti Yoga’s 500 Hour Advanced Teacher Training with Linda Lalita Winnick in 2015, and in addition to teaching, maintains a dedicated personal practice and continues to study all aspects of yoga. Selena took her first yoga class as a student at Bard College in 1998, and through her practice is gradually becoming more able to make sense of life on this planet and the intricacies of being human. The practice of yoga teaches her to stay balanced, open, and joyous as she strives to act with love in every situation. These situations usually involve cookie dough, handstands, and her three almost-grown children. Selena hopes to be an agent of joy, optimism, and reverence for life. Her vinyasa classes are informative, exploratory, and fun, and designed to leave students feeling nourished, balanced, rejuvenated, and empowered. Her enthusiasm is infectious! Her intention is to help students develop a stronger connection within themselves through movement and concentration. She believes wholeheartedly that yoga is a vehicle through which we can embody our fullest potential in all areas of our lives, and contribute in an increasingly positive way to our relationships and communities.
“The program was extremely well-oiled, and I’m already thinking about attending next year’s event. Moreover, the lush campgrounds, spa services, friendly staff, and delicious vegetarian meals helped complete a well-rounded, inspirational experience. A thousand thank yous.”

“Menla means Medicine Buddha in Tibetan, but I think the esoteric translation must be ‘magic’. Menla is a place unto itself.”

“It was a lovely weekend as it always is at Menla! Thank you. It truly is a special place in many ways. The people who work there and run the place really do make the difference, as they are all very nice and kind. I’ve been to other like places where that typically isn’t the case. I realized this past weekend that just being at Menla is simply awesome!”
